California Dog Training is a family business led by Robert Eimer, who has devoted more than 30 years to professionally training dogs and helping families live more happily together. His experience spans family-dog training, advanced obedience and complex behavior modification, with tens of thousands of hands-on hours spent understanding dogs as individuals and refining kind, effective training methods.

Today, Robert focuses on practical, reward-based training without shock collars, e-collars or harsh corrections. Our private five-acre Riverside County training property near Corona is also our family home. It is a place where dogs receive personal attention, plenty of exercise and valuable practice from a family that genuinely cares about their happiness and progress.

How do I get started?

Begin with a free, in-depth behavioral evaluation. We’ll learn about your dog, discuss the behaviors you’d like help with, answer your questions, and recommend the training program that best fits your dog and family.

How long is your Board & Train program?

Adult programs begin at three weeks, with five weeks recommended for the strongest foundation. Two-week programs are available for puppies.

Do you use shock collars or harsh corrections?

No. We use positive reinforcement, clear communication, consistency, and rewards personalized to each dog.

What happens when my dog comes home?

Your program includes a detailed go-home session and continued support to help your family maintain progress at home.

Where is California Dog Training located, and what areas do you serve?

Can my dog stay for boarding after training?

Yes. Boarding is available exclusively to dogs that have already completed one of our training programs.

Hello Robert, I just wanted to let you know that Milo is doing great! He is a well oiled-bulldozer and is no longer bashing the door - that was the hardest thing for him. Milo does his down stays for 40 min. every night and walks on the lead nicely. I don't really need the lead, he is right by my side. Kenai is now an OFFICIAL THERAPY DOG, here in Chula Vist/San Diego. She passed the CGC test on the first try, she also passed the therapy dog testing on the first try... We had our first outing today, and she did wonderful. Working with Robert has been life-changing. I have 2 amazing Australian Shepherds, but after a series of unfortunate events, they became difficult to manage, and I needed help. I contacted 5 other facilities, and only 2 of them (including California Dog Training) used positive reinforcement training. I chose this facility over the others based on experience, customer service, and training protocol. I’m glad I took the time to research the right facility for my dogs because this experience exceeded my expectations. Robert and his team answered every question I had before, during, and after training. Robert spent time responding to emails when I hit roadblocks, and he continues to support me today.

I cannot say enough nice things about Robert and his program. I was a little nervous dropping out Basset Hound Puppy off for an extended period of time but from the moment I saw Robert interact with our pup, I knew our guy was in the best hands. Robert is calm, incredibly knowledgable and has a gift for interacting with dogs. After about 6 weeks our pup came home with a great baseline of manners for us to continue to build upon.
