Build a healthy relationship between with your dog today.
“Respect, clear communication and generous rewards work together to create a mutually enjoyable way to live with and enjoy dogs, whatever your goals.”
Dog behaviorists and researchers alike understand that the dog by nature is reward-driven. Whatever a dog’s actions are, what your dog is doing right this second – good, bad, cute, or ugly- is because he perceives an immediate benefit from his action. In other words, your dog is always behaving in ways that seek to improve well-being.
A dog that has a healthy relationship with its people has a calm and relaxed demeanor. It is most secure, willing to please, and responds to what it is asked to do happily. Even high-energy dogs display these qualities when all is well in their world.
Unfortunately, as pet dog owners, we sometimes struggle to interpret our dog’s behavior. In turn, dogs might have a hard time trying to understand what we want from them. They attempt to create their own structure, routine, and hierarchy the best they can. This is a dog’s innate and ultimately misunderstood social and emotional need.
This lack of understanding is where a large number of behavior problems arise. While man and dog have coexisted for thousands of years together, to date, the two species still have very different ideas about how the world should work. The end result is not always good for us or them. To build a healthy relationship with your dog, we bridge the gap and erase the misinformation that leads to confusion between our dogs and us.
What can we do for your relationship with your dog?
We use Positive Reinforcement Training Methods to combine dog behavior-reading and interpretation to give you the tools you need to communicate with your dog. We help you build and/or re-establish a healthy relationship between your dog or puppy through training and behavior modification.
We give your dog a common language and the right tools so they understand your expectations.
The dog training commands your dog learns will tell your dog how to understand our human world and how to interact with it.
- Sit - I need your attention!
- Down - hold on a minute
- Stay - (wait patiently while I make dinner, check in at the vet, etc)
- Come When Called - I need you to stop what you're doing/where your going now.
- 30 minute down stay - Its ok to relax here until I release you. I need you to stay out of the way for a while
- Loose Leash Walking - Walk calmly by my side
- Crate Training - A safe personal place
- Behavior Modification Commands when needed - ex: Leave It

We decode your dog’s behavior.
We use our 25+ years understanding of dog behavior and knowledge of body language to decode the dog’s experience. We understand “what” it is feeling in order to direct your dog’s behavior to something positive for both you and him.
- Is this dog afraid?
- Is this response due to temperament or environment... both ?
- Will this dog bite? Why?
- Does this dog need a job? Is he bored?
- Has this dog had a bad experience?
We understand that your dog’s animal experience is very different from our own human experience. As dog trainers, we look at the world through both your dog’s eye and yours. There are thousands of prevalent, intricate, and less recognized dog body language cues that we humans might typically misinterpret. Usually, this is because we impart our human experience to our dogs.
When a dog demonstrates aggression, it shows its teeth. This is very different from the human action of showing teeth, which means the exact opposite thing — happiness! When a dog shows its teeth at us, there are few times a person would say, “Look, he’s smiling!”
It is essential not only to try to change the dog’s behavior but to also know why he is doing it in the first place.
We Build a Long Term Foundation and Framework for you and your dog to Build on.
Our dog training programs build a mutual relationship between you and your dog. We interpret the dog’s language and provide the dog the appropriate tools to respond to human language; a healthy relationship based on mutual respect, trust, and consistency emerges.
“All his life he tried to be a good person. Many times, however, he failed. For after all, he was only human. He wasn’t a dog.”
– Charles M Schulz (cartoonist and creator of Snoopy)

Everything is going grea with Niko. We are all really excited that he can finally leave the house with him and we have the tools to create a balanced environment. Everyone was amazed when we brought him home, to see he slept through the fireworks display in July. It was great to take him to vets office and he was so calm! He responded great and didn’t go crazy when he saw other dogs! Thank you for putting together a program that is easy to follow and more importantly thank you for taking the time to answer all my questions.
