Meet Robert Eimer, Your Southern California Dog Trainer

Dog trainer Robert Eimer has more than 30 years of professional experience and personally oversees every dog in California Dog Training’s positive-reinforcement Board and Train programs.

A Lifelong Career That Started at 14

Robert Eimer’s experience with dog training began long before California Dog Training opened its doors.

When Robert was a boy, his mother managed a Petco, where she began teaching group dog-training classes. She eventually established a training kennel of her own, and at around 14 years old, Robert started working alongside her—initially as a way to earn allowance money.

What began as a teenage job became a lifelong passion. Robert continued working with dogs as he grew older, gaining hands-on experience with different breeds, personalities, learning styles, and behavioral challenges.

He briefly stepped away from training for two years to pursue a corporate career. It didn’t take long for him to realize that office life wasn’t where he belonged. He returned to professional dog training and never looked back.

In 2018, Robert and his wife had the opportunity to purchase their own five-acre property in Riverside County near Corona and establish California Dog Training. It gave Robert a place to personally provide Board and Train programs using the practical, positive-reinforcement approach he had developed throughout his career.

PERSONAL ATTENTION

One Experienced Trainer From Start to Finish

When your dog enrolls in a Board and Train program at California Dog Training, you know exactly who is responsible for their training. Robert is our only trainer, and he personally works with and oversees every dog throughout the program.

This consistency allows him to understand each dog’s personality, existing habits, motivations, and individual pace of learning. Rather than forcing every dog through an identical system, Robert adjusts the training according to how that particular dog responds and progresses.

Because our private five-acre training property is also our home, caring for the dogs is part of Robert’s daily life—not something that ends when regular business hours are over. Each dog receives experienced, consistent attention from arrival through the Go-Home Session.
