Meet Robert Eimer, Your Southern California Dog Trainer

Robert Eimer is a Southern California dog trainer with more than 30 years of professional, hands-on experience. He has worked with hundreds of dogs across different breeds, temperaments and levels of behavioral difficulty. As California Dog Training’s only trainer, Robert personally evaluates, trains and oversees every dog enrolled in our Board and Train programs near Corona, California.

More Than 30 Years of Professional Dog Training Experience

Robert began working with dogs at approximately 14 years old, when his mother expanded from teaching Petco group classes into operating a training kennel of her own. What began as a teenage job quickly became the foundation of his professional career.

Over the decades that followed, Robert gained hands-on experience with puppies and adult dogs of different breeds, personalities and learning styles. He has trained family dogs needing better everyday manners as well as dogs displaying fearfulness, reactivity, growling, snapping, aggression and other complex behavior concerns.

After briefly stepping away from training for two years to pursue a corporate career, Robert realized that working with dogs was where he belonged. He returned to professional dog training and never looked back.

In 2018, Robert and his wife established California Dog Training on their five-acre property in Riverside County near Corona. The property provides the space and environment for personalized Board and Train programs, daily practice, exercise, play and real-life learning.

Experience With Different Dogs and Behavior Concerns

Many training challenges are more complicated than teaching a dog a cue. Leash pulling may be driven by excitement, frustration or fear. Growling may be a warning, an established response or a sign that a dog is overwhelmed. Even two dogs displaying the same behavior may require very different training plans.

Robert’s experience helps him look beyond the behavior itself and consider the dog’s temperament, learning history, environment, established habits, motivation and individual triggers. He adjusts the pace, rewards, level of difficulty and daily routine according to how each dog learns and responds.

Behavior concerns are evaluated individually during the free evaluation. Robert considers whether the concern is something California Dog Training can appropriately address and recommends a program only when he believes the training environment is a suitable fit for that dog.

PERSONAL ATTENTION

One Experienced Trainer From Evaluation Through Follow-Up

From the initial evaluation through daily training, the Go-Home Session and follow-up support, Robert remains personally involved. He is California Dog Training’s only trainer, so your dog is never passed between employees with different methods or levels of experience.

Working with each dog consistently allows Robert to understand that dog’s personality, existing habits, motivations and individual pace of learning. Rather than putting every dog through an identical system, he adjusts the training according to how that particular dog responds and progresses.

Because our private five-acre training property is also our home, caring for the dogs is part of Robert’s daily life—not something that ends when regular business hours are over. Each dog receives experienced, consistent attention from arrival through the transition home.
